The whole point of saving a file to the school's storage server is that it is supposed to be safer than saving it to your computer, right? Because computers can have things wrong with them (aka, dropping your laptop, magnetizing your disk, etc.). But, the storage server is backed up constantly, and it's gotten the kinks worked out.

So why, when I just went to go save my notes to the storage server, did it Time Out? I, being the compulsive saver I am, had saved it about two sentences earlier, so I figured I would just end the program, and then open it up. I would have lost the last two sentences, but the world wouldn't end.

But then, when I went to open it, it wouldn't open. It said that the file could not be found, or something crazy like that. I tried a couple more times and it still wouldn't work.

I was about to resign myself to having lost about one page (me, being the compulsive saver I am, had saved a copy a little earlier on my computer, so I still have part of what I had written). But I really wanted that page back. So I saved the corrupted file to my desktop and opened it with WordPad. It opened, and between the gobbledy gook, I found my lost page and the world was happy again.

(This is what I get for doing homework on a Saturday night again. Two weeks in a row. But I did go out earlier tonight, so I'm not a complete looser.)

I seem to have acquired the backdoor.sdbot virus, through an IM link. My Norton Anti-Virus can't clean it up on its own, so I need to manually get rid of it. But I am very busy. If I don't get rid of it right away, will it ruin my computer? I can't figure out exactly what it does. And the instructions I get from the symantec website for getting rid of it are kind of confusing.

I think I got rid of it. I hope I got rid of it. Ugh, now there went like, 5 hours of my life where I should have been doing homework.

On Friday Cake (the band, not the desert) is coming to campus for the one big concert of the year. Because my school is "special", they don't sell tickets, they make you wait in line for free tickets. So, this morning, from 11:00AM until nearly 1:00PM I waited in line for my one ticket (you could get one ticket with your student ID card), for Cake, a band whose music I don't even listen to. (And by "wait in line", I mean sit in a room full of other students for an hour, until a couple people came around making tape-lines on the floor. Then, we kind of split into amusement-part-type-lines.) At least I got there early enough to not have to stand outside in the cold.

Ironically, this morning when I got out of my first class and went to get breakfast at the Forum Grill, there was a huge sheet-cake decorated with a drawing of an American Flag sitting on one of the tables. Next to it were plates, forks, and a sign: "Free! From Cub Scout Pack XXX".

So, there were two ways to get free Cake today. You could eat it, or wait in line for it for two hours.

I really feel like I have molars coming in. Which is strange, since I got all four Wisdom teeth removed nearly two and a half years ago...
