I'll do
the friday five because I'm sitting here not doing homework, so I might as well.
At this moment, what is your favorite...
1. ...song?
...I keep listening to How Does Your Heart Beat by Lisa Loeb. It was on Buffy one time, and so it reminds me of that. It keeps playing on my computer.
2. ...food?
...Veggy Burgers. I bought 16 yesterday.
3. ...tv show?
...Do I even have to answer this one? Everwood. Everwood. Everwood.
4. ...scent?
...Veggy Burger! (I don't know. I've never been a big fan of scents. Sometimes my olfactory sense doesn't work, so I can't always smell anyway.)
5. ...quote?
...I don't have a favorite quote at the moment. Umm... hmm... "Are You Happy Now?" - Michell Branch
So, I don't know why I did the Friday Five since I didn't actually know the answers to most of the questions.
But, yesterday I got my first blog hate mail. Which wasn't actually mail or hate - it was an instant message complaint. But it was still exciting. Someone who goes to the high school where the
hazing took place last spring said they didn't like what I was saying. He felt that I was comparing what the senior girls did to murder. I nicely explained to him that that wasn't quite what I was doing. After a few minutes he decided I was right. I said I was sorry I made it sound like that, but really, those girls were CRAZY and even if they were drunk, most people wouldn't do that and it's all the fault of the spoiled rich suburban girls. Wait. No, I didn't say that. I lied. I just said that I was sorry I made it sound like that. I was comparing reactions and excessive amounts of news footage to the reactions and excessive amounts of news footage for a fictitious murder in a short story. He said I was right, and then asked me to listen to a song he wrote. I declined and then did Spanish homework.

Why did I just spend the last 25 minutes looking at refrigerators on Amazon instead of doing my [spanish], [statistics], [education] homework? I don't know. I think it's because I want a veggie burger, but veggie burgers live in freezers. And I don't have a freezer. So I want to find a little cheap dorm room fridge that also has a freezer in it. So that I can get veggie burgers. Because I want them.

Today in statistics I won a peacock. But the funny part is, (well, aside from that fact that I won a peacock) that I won it for having the most accurate guess the day before as to what percentage of the vote each democratic candidate would receive in the Iowa caucus. This is funny because I am probably the most non-political person on the entire campus. I did not caucus. I didn't even know who all the people were who were running. I randomly guessed, and I got it right. Ha! Take
those statistics. I wonder what the probability of randomly guessing and winning is. I bet by the end of the class I'll be able to tell you.

Someone broke my hair brush. And no one will confess to having done it. I liked that hair brush, it made my hair soft when I blow dried it. And I don't think the store in town sells that kind of hair brush.
In other news, I'm finally back at school. I now have $400 worth of books (
why are they so expensive), one less roommate (she's moving in with another friend - not really because of conflict in here, but because she just wants to), an orange that says "Hi! I am an orange. EAT ME!! Yum...", (I wrote that on the orange, aren't I creative?), and a bracelet that says "[R]" on it (my friend got it for me in Mexico three or four years ago, and sent it to me in the mail, so I had mail when I got back here).
Also, it's cold in Iowa right now. There are puddles of ice out in the field and my friends are impressed that I can easily walk over them in my big 3 inch clunky tall shoes.
