So, I've found one more person at [---- College] to add to my list of people who go to school here and don't smoke pot and excessively drink alcohol. The number is currently at five (including myself).

On a side note, the fact that I am taking neither a science class, nor a math class this semester will make me a very happy person.

[---- College] has been named the Best All-Around School by Newsweek magazine. Pretty cool, huh?

Tonight I went to my professor's house for dinner. Apparently, people do that at [---- College]. Both he and his wife work here, so both of their first year (politically correct term used at [---- College] for freshmen) tutorial (type of English class/advisory type thing that all first years are required to take) classes came over for dinner. It was kind of funny. Oh, and neither class has more than 13 people in it. [---- College] boasts small class sizes, and actually has small class sizes.)

Cars on both lanes of Interstate 80 stopped to weather a swirling blizzard, but it wasn't snow. It was cash.

Yes folks, this happened in my very own new town of [---- College], Iowa. I didn't see it or anything, but, I did read the article.

In other news, I get to learn how to throw an atlatl. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it is kind of like a spear. Or something to help you throw a spear. This is for an anthropology/english class I am taking.

Ha! So, guess what? I did it. I made it to campus. And I was so excited because I actually talked. To other people. Who I didn't know. And it wasn't even that hard! I just did it! I mean, I had to consciously think about it and work at it, but I talked. (And of course I would talk some, but I have talked like a normal person would talk, not like little me would talk.) I was quite proud of myself. I can do it!

And, who knows what I'll think later, but, I like my roommates. Maybe sometime I'll put pictures up. Because our room is awesome! We have a quad. And we have two small rooms and one main room. We sleep in the small rooms. The main room has all our desks. I fell spoiled because I have so much room.

Other interesting things...

One of my roommates has dark brown hair, and is kind of short. (Taller than me, but short nonetheless.) So, when I first went to meet them, my dad was just talking with her parents for a minute, and when we went back into the car, he said, "She's Jewish". And I assumed he was just making it up from raw assumption, because he was. He said, "Well, she looks Jewish". And, of course, you can't really look Jewish. Because it's a religion, not a nationality. But then we studied her last name, and it could be Jewish. So, later when we were talking about food, and I had said that I was a vegetarian, she had said that she didn't eat pork (which could indicate someone keeping Kosher). And I had to stop myself from laughing (which I did very nicely). And by then I was pretty convinced, but not sure. But then later, I asked her what she was doing the next day, and she said she was going the the Chalutzim meeting. Then I very nearly did start laughing. (But again, I stopped myself.) So, my dad took his average every-day assumptions and made up something true. Interesting.

Also, we got corn. One of the RA's (I don't even know what that stands for), the people who are in charge of planning my floor's activities and stuff, got us each an ear of corn. 'Cause we're in Iowa. Land of Corn.

And that is my ramble and babble for the night. (I just wanted to get something down before I forgot it all. Because - first night of college - it has to be recorded.)
