Sharks and Minnows is a dangerous game!
Today in physical education class we played this game. What it involves, is one person being the "shark" and standing in the middle of the gym. Everyone else is a "minnow" and lines up. They then run across the gym, attempting to reach the other end before the "shark" can tag them. If they are tagged, they become a "shark".
The only other time I have played this game has been with young children in swimming pools.
But today, we played it in our junior/senior P.E. class. We have a large class, so there was a lot of people. I collided with another "minnow" and fell. I skinned my knee on the gym floor. Anyone who has ever skinned their knee on a heavily varnished gym floor knows the pain I am in. It HURTS! I don't usually complain about my injuries, but this stings, it burns, it's red and gross.
And, I had to go to the school nurse.
I am afraid of school nurses. I always have been - ever since elementary school. I have been to the school nurse one time in my life previous to today. That was when I was really sick and ended up going home.
Today, I waited a period and then went with my friend to the nurse. She was nice. She gave me some non-stingy stuff to clean up my knee. Then she gave me some medicated goody Vaseline stuff to put on my knee. Then she gave me a band-aid. And then she gave me an ice pack. She was nice.
I am still afraid of school nurses. (They aren't even nurses! They're "health-aids". They just call themselves nurses!)

That was my trauma of the day.

Wow, these Nacirema people are pretty strange... What do you think of them?!

In my away message I posted some lyrics from a pretty obscure song. I asked people to reply with what they thought it was from. Five people replied with correct answers! And one of those people I know for sure doesn't watch the show. I've never had such a big response to my away messages. I'm going to need to promise people prizes in my away messages more often. That must be the trick. I told them that if they got the answer right, they'd win a prize.

They like me! They really like me!
I was one of the three people at my school accepted to Illinois State University (although they said many more people will be accepted in December), and I was told that when Miami sent their acceptance letters out in February, I would receive one.
*sigh*
Now though, I should go do my homework before they change their minds.

YAY!

Really, I kinda love Amazon.com -- in the way one can love inanimate objects.

Today my fate will be decided...

Not really, but I will, hopefully, get some idea of something that will happen in my future. My school has this program where seniors can apply to any three colleges in a list of about 25, and they will know today weather they were accepted or not. It is not early decision, so nothing is binding. You just get to know really early - it's like a security blanket. The colleges I applied to through this are Illinois State University, (which I know I will get into since my ACT score was about 9 or 10 points higher than the average) and Miami University in Oxford Ohio. The problem is, Miami doesn't tell you for sure weather you are accepted or not. They say, "you may be accepted" which is better than getting deffered, but not a definite acceptance.

So in reality, this day means nothing. I already know I will be accepted it ISU, and I will not find out for certain about Miami.

Warning: When milk gets too hot, it explodes. (It doesn't boil, it explodes.)
