Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates it. In honor of the occasion, I am wearing Christmas Tree underwear that I got on sale last February. :-)

My roommate was visiting her grandparents, who happen to live close to me; only about 20 minutes away. So, she called me up yesterday morning and asked if I would like to go over to her grandparents' house for lunch, because they wanted to meet me. I agreed to do that, and got directions from her grandmother.

The address I wrote down was (well, it wasn't really, but we can pretend it was):
555 L Ave.
G1, IL.

So, I decided to go to Mapquest and get directions, because I like how they give you the exact mileage, whereas the directions I had been given didn't have mileage or anything like that. So, I got in my car (well, actually my mom's purple mini-van) and off I went. There was bad traffic, so I called to say I was going to be late. "Are you lost?" The grandmother asked when I asked for my roommate. "No, W Road just has a lot of traffic, so I'm going to be a little late" I informed her.

So, half an hour after I was supposed to arrive, I got to L St. L St? I was supposed to go to L Ave. I looked at my Mapquest directions again. They had taken me to the wrong place. I drove around a little, looking for L Ave, and, not fining it, decided to call my roommate's grandmother. "Oh, L Ave. is just across the train tracks from L St. So, I looked around for train-tracks, found them, and crossed them. No sign of where I was supposed to be. I pulled over, took out the Chicagoland Area Map Book. And looked for where I was supposed to be. I found an L Ave. and an L St. (and an L Rd, and just an L). I drove around a little more without luck. I called my dad, but he wasn't sure what to do. I drove around some more, looked in the map book some more. My roommate's grandma called me, tried to give some advice, and I looked some more. According to the map book, I was really close. I just couldn't quite figure it out. By now, I was nearly an hour late. I called again, somehow mentioned that I was in G1, and then heard the grandmother say "I live in G2". Ohh.... well, that would explain my inability to find her house. "You're in G1?" she asked. Yes, I was. I was in the wrong town. I was near the right street, in the wrong town. And I was an hour late. I called my dad again, "They live in G2, not G1," I told him. "I thought they lived in G2, I thought that's what your roommate's parents had said when we were talking while you were moving into your room,". Oh, why didn't he tell me this, while I was wandering around G1, looking for a house in G2? I made him walk me through finding the house. I finally got there, and hour and a half after I was supposed to. They made me call them when I got home, so they were sure I made it there. Oh well...

Maybe I should just dye my hair blond, at least then this rash of ditziness would make sense...

If you thought my last story was good, I've got another one coming up. First, I have to go to a Chanukah party (at my house). Then, I will share my discovery that, despite the fact that they start with the same letter, G1 and G2 are two different towns, and you will not find a house situated in G2 in the town of G1.

(Note, G1 and G2 are not really the town names.)

This morning I was going to Bally's (a large chain of fitness clubs). It was really crowded, more crowded than I have ever seen it. I looked around to see what equipment was open, and I saw an open treadmill. So, I walked over with my water bottle, my CD player, and my book. I stepped on the treadmill. It was at that moment that I realized the treadmill was on, and someone had set it to go fast. I flew off the back end of the treadmill. Well, actually, I kind of fell down and slid off the back, like I was going on a conveyor belt. My CD player, book, and water bottle all scattered in different directions. Lots of people saw. Some person that worked there came over. Lots of people asked it I was okay. Because, well, it looked pretty weird - this girl, who barely looks old enough to be going to a health club (because I look young) falling/sliding off a treadmill. I got burns on my right elbow and knee from skidding across either the floor or the belt of the treadmill, I'm not sure which. The person who had been using the treadmill came over and just hopped back on. The employee scolded him and told him to turn it off when he's not using it. (That's what the 'pause' button is for, idiot.) Some other guy offered me his treadmill, even though he was still using it, probably because he was mortified for me! I thanked him, but refused his offer, and went to find a different treadmill. I then got bored after twenty minutes, and left. I saw my uncle (who I tend to see about half of the times I go to Bally's). I don't think he was there for my fall, which is good.

You know, I just feel like an over-dramatic 13 year old. Because when I was 13 I was oblivious, and therefor, not very over-dramatic.

And I spent the evening with the people who I am mad (not mad, but, something?) at, and I don't know. Maybe I just need to go read a funny book. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood. Maybe it's PMS. Females can always blame stuff on PMS, right?

I never knew that being angry (that's not quite the right word) at friends who you don't want to be angry at can make you physically nauseous. I have never been angry at friends before, or anyone for that matter. Never really angry, annoyed maybe, but not really angry. And I don't like it at all. And I want it to stop, but it won't.

I'm glad to see I make such a big impact on my siblings. So big that they don't even remember I am home, and have been for the past four days.
